Alabama knocked off Mississippi State 24-0 on Saturday, moving one game closer to an undefeated season and a College Football Playoff berth. It was a dominating performance, yet again.During the contest, there was one particularly bad call by the referees that went against Mississippi State – which is all likelihood negated a touchdown for the Bulldogs. The call – coupled with another stat – has fans crying foul. That other stat? Alabama was not called for one penalty against the Bulldogs the entire afternoon. To be fair, Alabama is an extremely disciplined team. Nick Saban doesn’t stand for dumb penalties, and players know the consequences when they make mistakes on the field. Still, it’s a frustrating stat for opponents.College football fans have been tweeting photos and videos of what they believe should have been penalties called on Alabama.Holding? pic.twitter.com/LqHifirOyy— MedDawg (@MedDawg) November 10, 2018He’s basically taking his jersey off. pic.twitter.com/qWhkyYpAj2— Justin M. Strawn (@JustinMStrawn) November 10, 2018Alabama has no penalties and we get phantom pass interference and black in the back penalties that take away touchdowns. But yes there was no holding on this play at all.. #givemeabreak https://t.co/Kxfk83XsD9— Matt Bethea (@peachestheboot) November 10, 2018Regardless, Alabama is now 10-0 with games left against The Citadel, Auburn and Georgia in the SEC title game. They’re getting close to being a lock for the Playoff later this year.
