The city’s Toys For Tickets campaign is back for another year of donations

first_imgOfficially called the Parking Ticket Exchange Program, the campaign is running December 8 – December 19, and is applicable to those with parking violations dating no earlier than September 1.“The program provides an opportunity for individuals to exchange meter violation tickets for toys that can be distributed through the community to those less fortunate,” city staff writes. “Residents of the city and surrounding area have long been known for their overwhelming support of worthwhile causes and the City of Fort St. John is proud to play a small part by running this program.”Bylaw staff will begin attaching a sticker to meter violation tickets from the start to finish of the campaign.- Advertisement -City staff says the budget impact of this campaign generally ranges $1,500 – $2,000.You can bring your unwrapped toy per ticket to City Hall, located on 10631 – 100 Street, where staff will then deliver the donated items to the Salvation Army for distribution.Since approved, the Protective Services Department plans to launch an advisory campaign in an effort to create community awareness, which among other avenues, will be promoted through the city’s Facebook page.Advertisementlast_img read more
