When you go to see the Lady Bulldogs of Batesville play basketball this year, they will certainly have a different look. Before practice started, they were planning on 3 young ladies being in their starting lineup who are now injured with two of them probably out for the year. One tore an ACL, another broke her leg, and the third suffered an injury to her hip which required surgery. But like the old saying goes, “the show must go on”.When this season started, Batesville had 2 freshmen, 2 sophomores, and a junior in their starting lineup. Don’t let this deter you from going to see them play. The young ladies that are playing are very good athletes, but they are very young. This means that they will take their lumps early, but I am sure that Coach Cox and his staff will have them rolling before the season is very far along. Most of this years’ roster is made up of freshmen and sophomores. As any coach would say, “we may not set the world on fire this year, but watch out before these young ladies graduate!” Right now there are no seniors on this year’s team ready to play. In fact, there is only one senior on the team, and she is one of the injured.
